Job Description

Primary Purpose:

The Area Executive Officer works under the direct supervision of the Area Superintendent. Responsibilities include supporting the day to day responsibilities that includes but not limited to implementation of Educational policies, procedures, and ensures compliance of all state and federal policies. Duties also entails oversight of facilities, construction, investigations, SPED compliance along with safety and security. Additional tasks involve managing and coordinating special projects. Must be able to multitask and problem solve complex issues that may arise. Requires daily travel to one or more counties - Brazos, Harris, Ft. Bend, and Brazoria County.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong understanding of charter’s organization, operations, and administrative policies.

• Creates and maintains files, reviews drafts and finished documents for accuracy and grammar, including documents of a sensitive or confidential nature.

• Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, interpretation and presentation.

• Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects.

• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office, Google, creating presentations, manipulating Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge to devise remedial actions for any identified issues/concerns that may arise. Utilize an analytical mindset for ‘out of the box’ solutions to solve problems.

• Demonstrates an ability to interact with persons of all backgrounds, cultures and affiliations within all levels of within the organization and stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently, exercise mature professional judgment, and use discretion.

• Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment based on open, transparent, continual communication, information sharing and inclusive decision-making.

• Capable of “managing up” to ensure deadlines are met and priorities kept focused.

• Improve staff performance to increase student achievement on campuses.

• Must demonstrate utmost integrity; respect at all times.

Experience:

• 5+ years of teaching experience

• 3+ years of Educational Leadership experience

and/or

• Equivalent 5+years’ experience in a fast-paced, large non-profit or public or private sector organization supporting an executive-level individual or team.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Support and assist Area Superintendent as assigned.

• Collaborate and support campuses to implement Charter initiatives i.e. DLI, EA, ER, etc. Ensures alignment between Area and HQ.

• Effectively communicate with teachers, APs, Principals,stakeholders and the greater community. both in oral and written communication without grammatical errors.

• Collect, disaggregate and interpret data and develop action plans based on results.

• Develop PD, trainings and presentations as requested.

• Daily travel to campuses to support by being a servant leader and solution oriented.

• Evaluate programing, support on-boarding

• Work under duress, multi-task numerous complex responsibilities, meet deadlines, quickly adapt to changes.

• Ability to make independent decisions, problem solve and take initiative regarding planning, organizing, deadlines and scheduling.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals. Travel: Daily travel to one or more counties - Brazos, Brazoria, Ft. Bend and Harris. Occasional travel to Dallas Fort Worth.

Motion: Fast-paced, adaptto change, flexibility.

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; daily charter-wide travel.

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions;maintain emotional control under stress
