Full Time, Salary Position Summary Delta Star Inc. is seeking a
Fleet Manager to oversee and maintain the organization's fleet of trucks and rigs. This role is essential in ensuring that all fleet operations run smoothly, safely, and cost-effectively. If you have a strong background in fleet management, understand DOT regulations, and are passionate about operational efficiency, this could be a great fit for you.
What You'll Do As the Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for purchasing vehicles, scheduling and overseeing both routine and non-routine maintenance, and ensuring the entire Field Service fleet remains in peak operating condition. You'll track equipment through quarterly preventative maintenance checks and maintain detailed maintenance logs for each vehicle. Monitoring driver performance to ensure schedule adherence and safe driving practices will also be key, as will managing licensure, registration, and ensuring all fleet members have up-to-date training and certifications.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with supervisors and staff to manage and reduce operational expenses, including fuel and labor costs. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a long-term replacement schedule for fleet vehicles. Reporting to management on budgeting, scheduling, maintenance needs, and overall fleet performance will be a core part of your duties, along with handling related tasks as required.
Education and Experience Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management. A valid driver's license is required, and a Class A driver's license is essential for success in this role.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and all DOT regulations. Must complete OSHA 30, OSHA 1910.269, and First Aid/CPR/AED training within the first 3 months of hire. Strong computer literacy and professionalism are required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
