Position Summary

The Lead Director of Federal Government Affairs will play a key role in developing CVS Health’s Congressional relationships and building the company’s reputation and enhancing long-term objectives through complex advocacy and campaign strategies. S/he will have a deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes, and strong relationships with Democratic Members of Congress. A successful candidate will have a track record of working collaboratively in a team environment, the ability to nimbly respond in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple issues and priorities. S/he will partner closely with the internal policy teams to align priorities and efforts and maximize resources, in addition to coordinating with cross-company business teams to educate policy makers about key company initiatives.

The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and lead legislative advocacy strategies to support the company’s advocacy/reputation agenda. S/he is responsible for identifying, and developing relationships with key Members of Congress. The candidate will need to work collaboratively and be a self-starter who can think strategically to problem-solve. S/he communicates effectively and comfortably with senior executives and high-level government officials, while demonstrating a high degree of professionalism.


Required Qualifications

10 years of professional work experience.

5+ years of Congressional/lobbying experience.

2+ years of experience in the Federal Government (Legislative Branch experience is required).

2+ years of experience devising multifaceted issue campaigns and advancing advocacy strategies to a positive conclusion on behalf of an organization or member of Congress.


Education
Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent years of relevant experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
