The Department of Health & Sport Sciences invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions for undergraduate and/or graduate classes in the following content areas: Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Education, Physical Activity, Physical Education, Sport Administration, Youth Sports. Instructors are expected to prepare and submit a course syllabus in accordance with accreditation standards; provide developmentally meaningful feedback to students; present engaging learning experiences; respond to students in a timely manner; communicate regularly with the program director; maintain collegial and respectful relations with members of the UofL community and external stakeholders; submit course data (e.g., Hallmark Assessment Tasks, midterm progress reports) and final grades within university deadlines; and, comply with other university requests as a part-time instructor. Amount of work required can vary by position and will range in FTE. Candidates will be reviewed and placed in a pool for consideration as openings arise. Applications will be accepted throughout the year and appointments will be made as needed. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications: A doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline). Additionally, applicants may be qualified based on one or more of the following: Work experience in the field, Specialized training in the field, Funded grants in field, Published/presented research or activity in field, Prior teaching experience in field, Professional licensure/certification in field, Honors and awards (related to field).
