Position Type: 6 months Contract (could go longer) Position Location: Houston, TX Position Salary: $60/HR - $75/HR (Depending on Experience) Responsibilities: Lead various assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, incorporating system components, and refining rough sketches. Perform quality review of PFDs and P&IDs based on descriptions from the design engineer. Review basic formulas, principles, and practices, applying fundamental concepts related to piping discipline. Lead drawing, planning, development, and production work, including problem analysis, design layout, and calculations on complex, non-routine assignments. Evaluate designs or sketches and incorporate redlines or mark-ups for quality assurance. Approve reports, drawings, and tests to ensure project deliverables are met. Approve design codes and specifications related to project requirements. Manage production of design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring timely completion. Calculate layouts, equipment, wiring diagrams, and schematics under engineer supervision. Integrate schedules, budgets, and project criteria into piping designs to meet financial goals. Oversee quality review of all revisions of project drawings and related information. Manage piping design QA/QC processes. Conduct review, coordination, and clash detection using 3D tools. Lead creation of piping isometrics using 2D/3D software. Create material take-offs. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Higher Education preferred. 15+ years of progressive experience in Piping Design, specifically with S3D software. Expertise in design software such as S3D and ability to learn new design tools. Modular experience and teamwork with workshare teams are a plus. Proficiency in 2D and 3D applications for engineering drawings. Deep knowledge of design, calculations, and systems in piping. Strong understanding of discipline theories and practices, capable of operating related software. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, project managers, engineers, and designers. Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
